4 Vegan Beauty Brands Created by Female Bosses
Refreshed May 16, 2021
I am so over cosmetic products that test on animals or use animal products. Animals are tortured and killed for vanity.
Why
Is
It
Necessary?
I have found that most vegan and/or cruelty-free brands have better, skin-loving ingredients. Plus, brands often acknowledge their environmental impact.
Over 100 million animals are killed annually in the U.S. because of experimentation. I’m talking about animals that many people have as pets like dogs, cats, frogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, monkeys, rats, rabbits, fish, pigs, and birds! That is craziness.
These animals don’t have a voice for consent and are used in biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing.
Animals are tormented in these experiments and live in unnatural habitats. They are confined to barren cages, socially isolated, and psychologically traumatized.
The European Union, Israel, and India have banned the sale of any cosmetics or cosmetics ingredients that have been tested on animals.
China requires specific animal tests, while the U.S. does not ban animal testing for cosmetics or household products. Below are cosmetic tests that are conducted:
Acute toxicity testing
Eye and skin irritation/corrosion testing
Skin sensitization testing
Carcinogenicity testing
Reproductive and developmental toxicity testing
It is horrendous to think about, but we have to acknowledge animal testing to fight it.
Now onto the positive...
EP has picked 4 vegan beauty brands that were all created by women! Ahh, doesn’t that sound magnificent and ethical?

Laws of Nature Cosmetics
Jasmine Rose created Laws of Nature Cosmetics a few years after her mother’s stage four breast cancer diagnosis. She learned of the strong connection between the chemicals in cosmetics and breast cancer. Jasmine decided to adopt a natural dietary and beauty lifestyle.
Jasmine launched the Laws of Nature Cosmetics brand to provide women of color with plant-based mineral foundation. Her formulas consist of high-performance botanicals that promote clearer, healthier looking skin over time.
